FROM OUR PRODUCTION OF OLIVER!
"Wow! Everyone was fantastic, but I thought the three leads- Nancy, Fagin and Bill- were smokin’ last night. Nancy was tragically heartwarming, Fagin was snaky, yet comical, and Bill was scary baaaad. It’s hard to believe O-L-I-V-E-R! is O-V-E-R! " Susan
"Man, can those kids sing!! It's not just a couple of 'stand out stars', it's ALL of them!!" Keith
"Wow, Oliver! was an amazing experience. The orchestra was exceptional and added so much to the play. This was our first year at LAPA and I wasn't expecting such a high level performance from the students. My daughter has learned so much from her teachers, and I am so grateful. We were not sure if we would return to LAPA next year, due to the busyness of life, but now I wouldn't even consider not having her be a part of such a wonderful organization. She is already looking forward to next year. She loves LAPA!" Angie
Who we are.... A Christian Arts Program for 200+ Students The Lancaster Academy for the Performing Arts is a Christian educational and performance arts academy. As we celebrate our 25th year, we are currently serving 230 students in grades 1-12, from homeschooling families (non-homeschoolers welcome) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area. Over the years we have performed over 400 musical concerts, including Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Coronation Mass and many other fine choral pieces, and produced 35 theatrical productions, including favorites like The Sound of Music, Music Man, King & I, Anne of Green Gables, The Wizard of Oz, and The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
What we offer....CHORAL - INSTRUMENTAL - THEATRE - FINE ARTS Our program has expanded into four departments. We now offer four choirs, orchestra, multiple instrumental ensembles, theatre classes and productions, dance theater classes, fine arts classes, summer camps and many socials, along with community service especially to the local nursing homes. This gives our students the opportunity to explore multiple group arts opportunities in different areas and to perform in many settings. We are also committed to a family friendly environment that is a safe place for students to develop in the arts. We also emphasize whole family involvement so that our group is a support for the priority of the family.
How we operate... ANon Profit Group It is our goal to continue to provide these opportunities, endeavoring to keep a high standard of excellence while keeping costs reasonable for families. We offer several multiple class discount options, to encourage families to experience more than one area of our program. We have a diverse and highly qualified staff whom invest in our students, families, and community. In addition to our paid staff and tuition fees, we rely on volunteers and charitable donations to continue to provide these educational opportunities in the arts to young people in Lancaster County and surrounding areas. The Lancaster Academy for the Performing Arts is a 501(c)(3) and donations are tax-deductible!
